Reconstitution Guidelines
Bacteriostatic Water (BAC)
- • Contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as preservative
- • Extends shelf life of reconstituted peptides
- • Recommended for most research applications
- • Store at room temperature before use
Sterile Water
- • No preservatives, single-use preferred
- • Use for peptides sensitive to benzyl alcohol
- • Shorter shelf life once reconstituted
- • Must be stored refrigerated
Reconstitution Steps:
- Allow vial and solvent to reach room temperature
- Clean vial stopper with alcohol swab
- Draw desired volume of solvent into syringe
- Inject solvent slowly down the side of the vial (not directly onto powder)
- Gently swirl (do not shake) until powder is completely dissolved
- Store reconstituted solution at 2-8°C
